After the round the players will be given a drink coupon and a bag of chips to enjoy while socializing and awaiting the announcement of results.

  5. Prizes:  The winning team members will receive a sleeve of golf balls, second place team members will receive two golf balls, and the third place team members will receive one golf ball.

  6. Barbara said that she needs the index from the Cottonwood players.  Pam will get them from Cottonwood.

  7. Sign-up sheets will be available in the clubhouse team room starting on December 6 and the last day to sign up is January 17.  OLNGA members should use the sign-up sheet and NOT Chelsea.

  1.  Membership:  Bonnie shared that we have approximately 81 league members at this time.  She sent out about 25 reminder emails to current members who have not yet completed membership for 2023 season. As of now, we have 10 new members for 2023. Reggie mentioned that the new fee schedule from management is making golf very expensive for non-residents who play in OLNGA.  She suggested that all of our league members should fill out a comment card asking management to approve a golf rate for league members equal to what residents pay and ask them to create a league punch card which non-resident league members could purchase.

  1. Member/Guest event:  Bonnie shared her plans for this event which will take place on February 28, 2023.  The theme for the event is “Awesome Arizona”.  She and her committee will prepare goodie bags for all golfers which will include water, a granola bar, and a “mulligan” coupon.  There will be space available for 72 golfers as we have two 9 hole courses available for use on this date.  The game of the day will be Step-Aside Scramble and no handicap will be necessary to participate.  The luncheon will most likely be a Mexican food buffet such as “make your own tacos”.  Raffle tickets will be sold for two available gift baskets.  The baskets will each be worth over $200 and possible themes for the baskets are Margarita Mania, Golf Arizona, and/or Site-seeing in Arizona.  Golf Prize money will be paid to the top three team-members: $40 for 1st place, $30 for 2nd place and $20 for 3rd place.

  1.  NDB and chits:  Pam raised a concern voiced by several golfers regarding players picking up at NDB and the impact of how to manage pops for our games that use a Net score.  After considerable discussion about NDB use for speeding up play – yet causing a dilemma for scoring, the following motion was made by Colleen with a second by Joyce.  Beginning in January, if a player chooses to pick up prior to the ball going in the cup, or uses NDB, the player will need to circle the score for that hole and they will become ineligible for chits for that round of golf.  Players may continue to play the entire round.  No player will be required to pick up at NDB in order to maintain their eligibility for chits but each hole must be played in full until the ball goes into the cup.  The board voted unanimously to approve the motion.

  1. New Business:  Sue shared that the OLNGA bulletin board is now back in use.  It is located on the wall just outside the lady’s restroom (near the starter’s podium).  Sue has met with Eddie to ask for a new board as the old one is very weathered and in bad condition.  Sue would like to display some up-to-date photographs, so if anyone has some, please get a copy to her.

The next meeting will be on January 9, 2023 in the Oakwood Ballroom at 9:00 a.m.

A motion to adjourn was made by Rachel and seconded by Bonnie and Pam adjourned the meeting at 10:53 a.m.

Respectfully submitted by Lynn Matassarin, Secretary
